ACTS ranked among top 3 climate change think tanks globally

21 August 2017

Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to inform you that The African Centre for Technology Studies- ACTS has been ranked among the top 3 climate change think tanks globally (excluding think tanks from Europe and North America) in the 2016 think tank ranking.

The ranking also shows that ACTS is the top think tank on climate change in Africa.

When all think tanks from the rest of the world including Europe and North America are considered, we come to No.22 out of 244 think tanks, specialized in the research fields of climate change and climate policy globally.

The ranking is based on the authoritative and worldwide known assessment of the most cutting-edge institutions working in the field of climate change economics and policy, by the International Centre for Climate Governance (ICCG) under the “ICCG Climate Think Tank Ranking Initiative’’.

The ranking is based on 3 main criteria broken down into 15 analytical indicators:  organizational activities, publications and dissemination.

We take great pride in the Africa Sustainability Hub as one of the main contributors to this achievement. The hubs activities over the last two years have supported considerable research and outreach including regional training workshops, testing transformative social science approaches such as the Transformation Labs among many interesting activities that only very few think tanks or none do here. These have in many ways endeared ACTS to many partners currently and into the future.

We also have prepared a short blog on the ranking. The blog can be accessed here
